Rimmel wake me up foundation

Now I know this foundation has been blogged to death but thought i'd give my two cents anyway. Foundation is a product I will only ever purchase by high end companys due to my sensitive skin and I haven't actually tried a drugstore foundation for a long long time, but with the hype surrounding this foundation and it been on offer in asda for around £5 I thought I would give it a go. Now I don't particularly have bad skin I very rarely have any kind of breakouts, I do have dark circles buts that's nothing my trusty Touche Eclat cant hide, yet I do tend to go for medium to heavy coverage foundations as I like the flawless finish it gives. However for work I feel my foundation is a little heavy and I have been looking for something a little more dewy and natural. I have been swayed towards Chanel vitalumiere aqua, and was going to Selfridges be colour matched this weekend and now i'm really happy I never as this foundation is amazing and well £5 compared to £31 for chanel an absolute bargain. I have used this foundation for around a week, and I can say I love it, it smells lovely, really fresh and fruity and gives just enough coverage so my skin looks flawless but it actually feels as if I have no makeup on, which is amazing. I love the finish of this foundation and the slight iridescence really makes your face glow, but not in a shimmery glitterball way, it isnt really noticeable on the skin it really is the tiniest flecks ever but It just helps give you that fresh faced dewy glow. I put this foundation on at 7.00 am and at 6pm when I finish work it's still there, perfectly in place, I do set my foundation with a powder but this has still lasted the test of time.
Combined with SPF 15 and pump applicator it's definitely a massive thumps up to Rimmel on producing this little beauty. I do have dry skin and this is the perfect foundation for me, if you have oily skin this may not be the case, if anyone with oily skin has tried this foundation please comment below, it would be interesting to see how it has worked for you. Just for reference i'm a NC30 in Mac and I chose the shade 200 soft beige and its the perfect colour, however the next shade up is very dark compared to this so when im tanned I may have to buy both shades and mix them. Overall a great product for the price and I think this may just be my new go to foundation for daily casual use xoxo

  1. I have dry/sensitive skin too and usually use a mineral powder foundation. This would be perfect for a winter time foundation for me when I tend to wear more make up! Thanks for the review!

    1. I've actually never tried a mineral foundation, is it ok for dry skin?, I got a bare escentuals starter kit for Christmas and I still haven't tried them, I assumed they would be drying. Yeah definitely pick this up its really good, coverage isn't amazing but if you only have a few/no blemishes this will be perfect for you and for the price it's amazing :)
