Bodyshop Make up Brushes

Hello ladies hope you all had a lovely weekend :) now I thought I would ask for your expert advice before I went ahead and bought these. I'm not sure if you are aware but the Bodyshop are having the most amazing sale at the moment, buy 10 items and get 50% off, thats correct 50% WOW. Now I have always been a fan of bodyshop products and find them of a high quality and although I have neglected their make up in recent years, their coconut bodybutter is a staple in my skin routine and the new chocolate one looks and smells AMAZING. I have a collection of Bobbi Brown and Mac make up brushes but I really want another set of lower priced but quality brushes to use while my brushes are being deep cleaned or as a back up set and I thought this deal would be the perfect opportunity to give these a try, but before doing that I thought I would ask you lovely ladies your opinions.

Have any of you tried any Bodyshop brushes and would you recommend them? xoxo

Mac Splurge

Hello you gorgeous ladies as promised here is my Mac haul. Well I actually purchased these at Debenhams, as they are having a 10% sale on all their beauty club award winners at the moment, which included my Mac lipsticks and blush :) there are however lots of other amazing brands included in this offer, including YSL and Bobbi Brown so its definatley worth checking out, I also picked up some non Mac items which I will show you all in another post. I thought I would start my haul with my favourite Mac product the lipsticks.
The first lipstick I picked up is Shygirl. I would describe this shade as a peachy pale nude with a slight pink undertone. Shygirl is a cremesheen formulation so glides on the lips easily and even gives a slight glossy effect, I would also say it has a decent amount of pigmentation but two coats gets the perfect colour pay off. I definitely think shade will really compliment any one with a tan I'm a NC30/40 and I love this colour on my lips.
The second lipstick I purchased is Sandy b. I would describe this shade as a peachy/pink colour with a golden shimmer. It reminds me of my favourite blush of all time Nars Orgasm, but in a lipstick form. Sandy b is a frost finish, and really compliments tanned skin, its a lovely alternative with its frosty sheen to a conventional peachy shade and perfect for summer.
I have saved the best till last, as you can see I'm very much into my peachy coral shades for summer, and the brighter the better so my favourite of the three was the shade Costa Chic. I would describe this shade as a bright coral, there is a slight pink undertone but its definitely alot more coral than pink. Costa chic is a frost finish but to be honest it does not seem like a frost at all I find it alot more pigmented and there is no frosty shimmer at all compared to what you get with sandy b. I know alot say this is drying and I have dry lips naturally but this does not dry my lips out at all, I think this would suit any skintone but with a tan its delicious, I think this will be my go to shade for summer.
Now onto the eyeshadows :)

Eye shadow in Mystery. Now I picked this shade up purely as a eyebrow filler as my much loved Smashbox quad is on it's last legs and as I like my eyebrows darker than my hair colour and quite defined, the MUA recommended this shade. I would describe mystery as a dark brown that has a mauve base, with absolutely zero warmth. It is a very cool toned shade which compliments eyebrows perfectly,as I had previously tried espresso as a brow filler and the reddish undertones shone through and looked very unnatural. Its a satin finish and is very buildable and blendable and boosts no shimmer at all. I think this could be great as a crease colour but for me it's purely for a brow filler and I would definitely recommend.
Pan eyeshadow in Patina. Patina is a cool-toned light brown with a multidimensional shimmer, it reflects an array of shades under different lighting, main being gold. Patina is a frost finish and is very blendable and buildable, I think it looks amazing as a lid colour with satin taupe in the crease but this can even be worn on its own as its such a beautiful shade and very versatile, in my opinion a staple shade.
Pan eyeshadow in Contrast. Contrast is a blackened metallic blue with a slight shimmer, it is a velvet finish. As I stated in my last Mac haul,I have filled my 15 neutral pro pallet and am working on a smokey pallete and this is the perfect smokey eyeshadow, it reminds me of a night sky. The pigmentation I would say is medium to buildable, and as its a velvet finish it blends well. This is the perfect crease colour for a more dramatic smokey eye or you can even use all over the lid, this is the perfect alternative to black or grey and will compliment any skintone.
Powder Blush in Well Dressed. As I am not a fan of majorly pigmented blush and overdone cheeks, so this is the perfect colour for me. Well Dressed is a soft pale pink with shimmer and is buildable if you want more colour, but I love the subtle glow it gives and it really brightens up your complexion. The Satin texture is very silky and blendable. I do feel this would look better on fair skinned girls as the colour will show up more but if you are like me and just like a subtle sheen then this would be perfect.
Mac Eye Kohl in Smoulder. Now this is about my 7th purchase of this eyeliner and it is definitely my holy grail eyeliner. Smoulder is a very intense black colour, that is so creamy smooth it just glides on and gives the perfect colour payoff with just one stroke, its very blendable if you want to smoke it out and  stays put all night. A beauty must have for everyone.

If you have any more questions about any of these products feel free to message me, enjoy ladies xoxo

Topshop, Primark and Mac Haul

Hello there girlie's, hope you all had a lovely weekend :) I got paid on Friday, so Saturday I decided to venture to shops with the girls for a little shopping spree and then we ended our day with some cocktails. So I thought i'd share with you the items I purchased.

Topshop
Aztec print maxi dress - £28. I'm really loving the aztec print clothes that are out at the moment and this figure hugging maxi is very flattering on, paired with some nice sandals and a cropped denim waistcoat, this is my new favourite item for summer :)

Cropped Denim Bleach Jacket - £38 - I think a denim jacket is a staple item in every girls wardrobe, I love the cropped style and light denim on this particular item, you may remember this little item from my wishlist :)
Tassle Skirt - on sale for £18 - This was a very random buy I seen it on the sale rack and was very unsure but when I tried it on it actually looks amazing these pictures do not do it justice and paired with a black cropped top I think it would look gorgeous, a very unique piece.

Foil Effect Skirt -£30 (i think as price part has come off tag) This item was another where once I had tried it on I was in love, this is very flattering on and the floaty design hides a multitude of sins. I love the silver shimmer effect too.
Primark
Stripped Blouse - £10 - I have abit of an obsession with blouses atm and I loved this little number and for only £10, I would match this with some leggings and a blazer for a smart casual look.
Leopard print sleeveless blouse £10- I love the leopard print design on this blouse, just enough to be different but not enough to scream Bet Lynch lol! I think this blouse could be dressed up or down for a casual day look with leggings or dressed up with shorts for a night.
White blouse with pink detailing £10 - Yet another blouse lol, I think I got abit excited with the £10 price tag but I love the simple design of this I think I would wear this with a black blazer and leggings and add some pink accessories to really brighten the outfit up or if i'm feeling particularly adventurous some pink jeans.
6 Assorted set of earrings £2- This was purely a random buy for work as I always lose earrings and after now owning an assorted collection of  just the 1 earring from pretty much every jewellers imaginable, I have decided myself and expensive earrings are not meant to be and for 6 pair for £2, you cant go wrong.
I have included prices on the items and they are all in store at the moment if you want to pick any of these items up. I know I also included Mac in the title but this post is already very long and I had abit of a splurge at Mac so I will do a separate Mac post for you gorgeous ladies. Now in any true shopping style (or maybe this is just me lol) we ended our trip with cocktails mmm :) xoxo

Outfit of the night

As I stated in My previous post I met up with a few friends for dinner last night and a cheeky cocktail. We went to a beautiful Thai restaurant in town, and then on to a cocktail bar. I had such a good night and just thought I'd share my outfit with you lovely ladies.
Blazer - Topshop
Top - Allsaints
Shorts - H&M
Shoes - Newlook
Bag - Louis Vuitton Speedy 30
Watch - Marc Jacobs

Glitzy Nails

Hello there girlies, I was doing a little bit of an experiment with my nails last night, me and a few of my beautiful friends met up for food and drinks and I was feeling particularly adventurous, so I created this look. I used Models Own Slate Grey and Topshops heart of gold (my new favourite gold) nail polish. I alternated the base colour on each nail and used a transfer to lap the second colour over the top at different positions on the nail creating this funky effect. I then decided to add a few gems on to each nail at the dividing point between each of the two colours, yes I know it is slightly tacky but I love them lol, at work I can barely get away with nude nails so when I am let loose and free to have my nails how I want, I like them as tacky as possible gems, glitter and lots of colour. Hope you like them :) xoxo

My Summer Wishlist

With summer fast approaching and my usual Sunday afternoon spent lounging around the house in my comfy joggers, bliss! I always end up on  the hunt for new fabulous pieces to add to my wardrobe or makeup bag. So I'd though I'd share a few of these with you.

9.ASOS Skater Dress with Sequin Top £45.00
10.River Island Collar Detail Playsuit £40.00

Now these are just a few little pieces I've seen and loved and will definitely be adding a few of these to my collection, but I literally could have a wishlist a mile long lol, there are some stunning clothes in the shops this season. Hope you all had a nice weekend girlie's xoxo

Topshop nail polish in Heart of Gold

Topshop describe this nail varnish as;
Fast drying, extra long wear with lasting glossy metallic finish and perfect coverage. Apply base coat, apply two coats of colour and finish with glossy topcoat. For best results, always follow these three steps.

I have to agree, this is definitely one of the best metallic gold nail varnishes I have come by, it has a very crisp gold colour which looks classy unlike some brassy/yellow golds you tend to get with cheaper nail polish, hello Models Own 25 Carat gold. I love the quirky packaging and this stays on the nails for 3-4 days without chipping which keeps a smile on my face and 2 coats gives an amazing colour pay off, highly recommended. 9/10

Nails of the day - OPI Austin Tatious Turquoise

Since I got my models own glitter polishes out the other day, I have rekindled my love for glitter and all things sparkly and decided to jazz up my nails. I have used two separate polishes to create this look,

OPI Austin-Tatious Turquoise (Texas Collection)
OPI - Gone Gonzo  (Muppets Collection)

Firstly I used two coats of OPI Austin-Tatious Turquoise, which is a blue/green shimmer with a purple undertone. This is quite a translucent and takes upto 4 coats for the perfect opaque colour, however as we are putting a glitter overcoat three coats is enough for a base colour. Below is with two coats.
Below is with three coats.
I then painted my nails with two coats of OPI - Gone Gonzo, which is a translucent polish with a fine metalic blue glitter mixed with large silver hexagonal glitter.

The finished result :) Honestly the pictures do not do these colours justice the fine blue glitter really sparkles in real life which isn't showing up on my camera :( Whats your favourite OPI shades ? xoxo

Mac Attack

Hello there my lovelies, hope you all had a lovely long weekend, I know I did, I have some outfit of the day posts to show you later too :) Well the postman has been this morning with a few little items I have ordered from Mac, I actually ordered these from Debenhams, as over the Easter weekend they had a 10% off sale which made me a very happy girl.
I saw this little mirror and thought this would be perfect item to pop in my handbag for touch ups, its actually a hardened metal not glass so wont break and has a cute little pouch to keep it in, and for around £4 which I paid I love it.
Lipstick in the ever famous Hue. Hue is a pinky nude shade, in a glaze formulation, so it takes a few coats to get alot of pigmentation, but this is the perfect everyday shade and I think this would suit any skin tone.
My second purchase was another lipstick in the shade Blankety. I would describe this shade as a beige, with a slight pink undertone. Blankety is an amplified creme formulation so is very pigmented but still has a lovely creamy sheen and although blankety is still in the nude family it is alot darker than the conventional nude shade so if you are not a fan of pale nudes which can wash some people out, this would be your perfect go to shade.
The final but probably my favourite purchase was this beautiful lipstick in the shade Girl About Town. This is a vibrant shade of darkened, bright fuchsia pink, and an amplified creme finish, giving lots of pigmentation but also a nice creamy sheen.   This is the perfect night time shade and for the braver among us a gorgeous summer shade, I will definitely be testing this one out during the day with a nice summer dress .

Eyeshadow in Nylon, Nylon is a very pale gold with fine
icy shimmer. It is a frost finish and is very blendable and buildable, and perfect for use on the inner corner or as a highlighter shade. This would suit most skin tones but I definitely think this looks better on those with a darker skin tone.

Eyeshadow in woodwinked. Woodwinked is a veluxe pearl, it looks alot more bronze in the pan but upon application its a warm toned gold, without any of the usual yellow undertones you get with gold shadows. Looks lovely either all over the lid or in the outer corner blended into the crease.
Pan eyeshadow in mulch. Mulch is a velvet finish and is a gorgeous brown bronze, it is known to have a slight red undertone however this does not show on my complexion. As this is a velvet so not overly shimmery makes a great crease colour for a smoky eye.
left to right nylon, woodwinked, mulch

I have now converted to my eyeshadows in pan form, I have a 15 shadow pallet which I love instead of having single shadows everywhere and also a quad which I find sooo handy to pop in my four favourite eyeshadows to suit any look. I have now filled my neutral pallet so am going to work on a bright/smoky pallet do any of you gorgeous ladies have any must have colours in mind? xoxo
